My great-great-grandmother was Tecla Dosterschil, born 1802 in Stare Tarnowice, Poland. Her parents were Sylwestra Dostrasch (Dosterschil)and Johanny Wernerin. Tecla married Johann Rzeppa in 1823. Wondering if any of this fits into your research. Thanks, Lynn

Monica--I received a 10/12/00 message from you re. Peter Dosterchild, Silesia. Will be happy to hear from you and share whatever I have. I did not receive your 9/24/99 message--just noticed it on your message board. My gggm, Tecla D., was born in Stare Tarnowice in 1802--she married Johann Rzeppa there and they later moved to Toszek. I visited both villages in May 1999. Would be thrilled to hear from you---Lynn

I believe this would be me.

This is what I have from my records:

Johann and Tekla Tzeppa, settled in Panna Maria, Karnes County TX

Parents of Julia Rzeppa, native of Poland, member of old titled family. Julia was married to Carl Richter, one of their children was Amalie Julie, who was my great great grandmother.

I have little information. What about you?

I would be most grateful for help in tracing the family of Alfred Hans Rzeppa (1897 - 1965). I believe he worked for Ford in the USA and, sometime later, started his own company designing and manufacturing universal joints. His great claim to fame is the 'Rzeppa Joint' which he patented in the mid 1930's and which is used in front wheel drive cars throughout the world. In fact, millions of these are still produced and fitted to vehicles every year.

I am doing some research into the history of universal joints and would very much like to contact his relatives. My e-mail address is dstatham@landrover.com.
