I found your message very interesting. I am researching the Klepaczyk/Kozlowska family. My great, great, grandmother was Mary/Maria Kozlowska c 1840 who married John Klepaczyk. They came from Poland to east side of Detroit in 1870's. I was told of "cousins" named Rzepecki on that side of the family. Some moved to Dearborn from the east side. One name, may be from marriage, was Sophie.

Hi,
I am researching my grandfather and grandmother:
Maciej(Mathew) RZEPECKI B. 1836 D. 1895 in Detroit
Katarzyna(Catherine) KOZLOWSKI RZEPECKI PAWLOWSKI b. 25 Nov. 1850 D, 25 Oct 1915 in Detroit
They were both born somewhere in Poland and immigrated to Detroit in 1881. They had 9 children, Stanislawa(Stella), Albert, Walter, Mary,Frank, Louis(my Dad), John, Tomas, Rose. The first 3 children were born in Poland and the others in Detroit. I believe Mathews father's name was Benon and his mother was Frances Maslinski. Catherines father was Piotr(Peter). She remarried John Pawlowski in 1904 after Mathew died. They lived on the East side of Detroit and went to Sweetest Heart of Mary Church which is still there and they have a website. I checked but did not see the name Klepcczyk on their list, but Rzepecki and Kozlowski are on their list. The site is www.sweetestheartofmary.org Lorry

I've never done any research on the Rzepecki name and know little of my ancestry. I was struck by your connection to Detroit (Rzepecki being such an unusual name). I believe my great uncle Rzepecki lived in Detroit in the early part of last century and I'm wondering if there could be a connection.

The name Rzepecki shows up on both sides of my father's family. Anna Klepaczyk(b.1898) married John Rzepecki(b.1896). There are also Rzepeckis that are related to Kowalczyks: John(1877-1941)and Frances(1881-1962) and I think their sons Joseph(1907-1971) and Norbert(1909-1924). I was told they were cousins but I don't know where the connection is. All lived and died in the Detroit area.
Are any of these names familiar?

I know this is super late but I just started looking in to my name and family and found this post. My grandmother's name was sophie rzepecki by marriage and lived in dearborn. She lived near divine child which my father ronald went to and I attended also. my grandfather's name was eugene rzepecki and was wondering if there is any connection. I would love to hear if you have any other facts to this.

Yes, there is definitely a connection between the Klepaczyk family and your Rzepecki family.

Eugene Rzepecki's parents were John Rzepecki and Anna Klepaczyk. Anna's father was Anthony Klepaczyk who was a brother of my great grandfather William. Their parents were John Klepaczyk and Marianna Kozlowska.

I have extensive information on the Klepaczyk family.

By the way, I grew up in Dearborn Hts. and graduated from Divine Child.

Yes. John Klepaczyk and Mary Kozlowska would have been your great great grandparents. Your great grandfather, Albert and my great grandfather, William were brothers. Your grandfather, Albert and my grandfather, Aloysius were cousins.

ok I just got back on from a earlier post. I went to Divine Child and so did my father and his twin Ronald John and Robert Rzepecki. I was named Joshua Eugene Rzepecki for my grand father and my dad told me to take John as a confirmation name for my Great grand father. So this is probably the same line?
