Hi, Carol! Glad to know that one more descendent is looking. I don't know what you have, but my mother eeked out a few bits and pieces from Grandma (Maryann Margaret Rusnica). No one seems to know why she was so tight about her family. Nancy is leaving for Poland next week and may rent a car to check out the town where she was born. Andrew Rzasa was born 11/26/1894. He was the son of Antoni (Anthony) and Maryja (Mary) (Adamski) Rzasa. He had a sister, Mary, and two brothers: Sebastian (moved to France) and John. My mother didn't know if there was one more child. Grandma was the daughter of Michal and Katarzna (Wajda) Rusnica. Michal was from Glogow, Rzeszow, Poland. Grandma had 6 brothers and sisters; Mike, John, Frank, Joseph, Louise and Marcella. I don't know their order or ages. Do you know any more? Jeanne Kogut Wardrop (daughter of Genevieve Jane Rzasa Kogut)

A Little More Info

Jeanne,

Hi! I hope that Nancy can find out more information. I thought that Maryln was going also.
When I did a search on the SSDI pages there are pages and pages of Rzasa's.
Some of the names have residence in Johnstown, PA.
Magdalene Rzasa, Theodore Rzasa and Vincent Rzasa. I don't know how they are related but if they didn't live there
then they were using Grandma address in order to get a social security card.

I found a Leonard T. Rzasa, born 11/24/1923, Johnstown, PA listed on the
Navy Memorail Wall. I asked my dad and the only thing that I could get was that
he remembered the name. I don't know if any of these people are related to Bill Rzasa
which is suppose to be an uncle to your mom and my dad.

On Ancestry World, I found a George Rzasa who had two children,
Walter and Marcella. Nothing on George's parents or siblings. Walter was married twice with 5 children by his 1st wife.
Her name is Malyorzata (Margaret) Sokolovska and there children are: Helen Rzasa, Frank Rzasa, John Rzasa, Henry Rzasa, Theresa Rzasa.

Marcella married Kazimierz / Novak and their children are: Joseph Novak, Angeline Novak, Helen Novak, Leo Novak, Stella Novak,
Edward Novak, Frank John Novak, Josephine Novak and Elenore Novak.

It is strange how so many of the name keep repeating themselves.

Talk to you later. I am tired!!!!!!!!!

I have a great-aunt named Kataryzna Wajda. Her brother, Joseph/Jozef, was my grandfather. Was your Kataryzna raised near Rzeszow, perhaps in Wielopole Skrzynskie?

Bill,

I think she might have been raised near Rzeszow. My great-grandmother married Michal Rusnica. Do you know if Kataryzna had children and if so what their names were. I have been told that my grandmother Maryanna (daughter to Katarzna) had 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Kataryzna Wajda was my grandfather Joseph's sister, according to Ellis Island records. She came to visit Joseph in the USA in the 1910s, I think. My grandfather was from Wielopole Skrzynskie. It sounds like we are related. I live in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. Where do you live?

Do either of you know of the Rzasa's that used to live in Pittsburgh? My mom was born in the South Side of Pittsburgh in 1926. Her Godmother was a Rzasa. Do you pronounce it "Zoonsa"?(the 'oo' sounds like 'book')

I've been trying to find out more about her. I need to know Mrs. Rsasa's maiden name. She may be my grandmother's cousin.
