Patrick Rynne - looking for information

My great grandfather is Patrick Rynne born in Co. Clare, Ireland - most likely in Lisdoonvarna.

By 1920 he had married Norine (Nora) Hession and lived in Chicago, IL, where he remained until his death in 1971. They had one son, James Patrick Rynne, a physician who died very young in 1954, and who is my grandfather.

I believe Patrick came through Boston, MA around 1904, possibly to stay with a sister in Lowell, MA. I also think that by 1917 he was living in Detroit Michigan.

Because their son (my grandfather) died young, and was an only child, there was not much information left on that side of the family.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Any lead will help! Much appreciated.

Michael

I am looking into the Rynne family, too.

You know Patrick shows with Norine in the 1920 census? If you can get his marriage and death certificate they might show his parents' names. His obit may show relatives, too.

My ggf John Conneely's mother was Nora (Honor) Rynne (m Michael Conneely) and he landed in Lowell MA about 1885 and died there in 1939.

Austin Rynne, bachelor, lived nearby, died in 1925 and is buried in the Conneely plot with John. I presume he is a relative, perhaps a cousin.

Michael Rynne was one of John's pallbearers. I believe he lived near John and was possibly a cousin.

I found two female Rynnes in Lowell, Middlesex County MA census.

MARY 21 1900
KATHRINE 78 1920

Of course the sister you mention could be under a married name.

Good luck

My brother, James, and I were looking at your posted message. He is named for his father, James, and is wondering if we are related. James Patrick Rynne is our father and the only child of Patrick and Norine. If you think we might be related we would like to reconnect with your half of the family. We recently heard from others that Kevin Rynne, from Massachusetts, formerly a teacher at Georgetown University is related to this branch of the family. This contact was made through Facebook. Perhaps there might be more leads in the social networks.
