Hello to fellow and somehow related Rybas.
I am beginning to fill in the family tree
and so I hope to hear from others.
I am 2nd generation American with (obviously?)
Polish ancestry. I am acquiring specifics on
our branch of the Ryba tree, so I can't be
more specific than that. So, hello!

Ryba

had a farm near a bay.If any of this rings any bells with you,
please contact me at tomr@strato.net

I read your message. The Ryba name means fish is Polish.
My relatives are Jewish and most were slaughtered by the
Nazis's during WWII. They came from a town named Ostrowiec.
My Grandmother was a Riba. How much research have you done?

My great grandmother was Josephine Ryba, She was my mother's maternal grandmother. She was bohemian. She married Frank Lucas they both came from Bohemia. I don't have any dates except my mother was born in 1906 and she said her Grandmother was her god-mother.
Would we have any connection?

hallo!

Hellow Richard,All of my ancestors came from Austia, Bohemia. I can trace back as far as my gr-gr-gr grandfather John Ryba. I do not know who he married. My gr-gr grandfather George married Margaret Steinbach. The emigrated from Darmshlag, Messhals area in the mid 1899's. Also my great grandfather John Andrew married Anna Kroj. The only brother that I know of John Andrew Ryba was Joe, but there may have been many more that remained in Bohemia. I've been checking the Austrian sights, but of course I can't read German, so I'm lost. I'm not sure if any of the above info is connected. Sincerely-Dar

I am trying to find genealogy info on my fathers
parents. My grandfather was born in a town in Poland that
no longer exists. I am not sure of the spelling, Suchuchuf.
My grandfathers parents settled in NYC.
