I am seeking information on my Ryan ancestors. My grandmother was Nora(h) Ryan and she was born in Brisbane around 1885. Her parents were possibly Patrick Ryan and Mary Ann Ford. She married James William RAMSAY on 8/1/1916 in Brisbane Queensland Australia.

Good morning Dallas, I am a decendant of the Window family. Our last 3 generations, including myself were born and lived in South Australia.
Do you have any Window relatives in Australia?
Regards Jennie (Window) Hamilton

Hi Jenny,
WIndow is my married name. My husband has many Window relatives, mainly in Queensland. I am currently researching the Window family history and have traced the Windows back to the early 1800s. They came from Horsley in Gloustershire England. There are four generation of Australian Windows. My husband (Ken)'s gggrandfather was Martin Henry Window who emigrated around the 1880s with his two brothers one of whom was Fredrick. Where do your Window ancestors come from?
Cheers Dallas

Good morning Dallas, My g-g-grandfather Samuel Window was born in Horsley Gloucestershire in 1819. His parents were Daniel Window and Elizabeth Gazzard. I know he had 2 sisters, Martha & Hannah. I've been told that after his father died his mother migrated to Sydney, Australia with the 3 children, arriving in Nov 1839. She had a sister & brother-in-law living in Sydney. Samuel married Mary Ashmead (who was also from Gloucestershire) in Sydney and after their first 2 children were born they moved to Adelaide, South Australia, which is where I live.

I have (considerable) research on the (Queensland) WINDOW family. My ggrandfather was Thomas Frederick (not Frederick) WINDOW. His parents were Henry WINDOW and Sarah RICKARDS. Thomas Frederick was one of two brothers and a sister who emigrated from Horsley to Brisbane in the 1880's. I'm happy to share my research (for appropriate acknowledgement) with all and hope you might share yours with me (for same acknowledgement).
However, mine is not yet organised and my time is very limited but I'll do my best. I'm thrilled to finally find someone else interested. Look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Lesley & Dallas I would also like to share any information that I have. I am also tied up with work and study commitments. Would you like to e-mail me after Christmas? HamJennie@netscape.netRegards Jennie Hamilton (nee Window)

I think this Mary Ashmead was the daughter of Thomas and Ruth, their other children were Henry/Harry, Ann and James. Thomas and his wife(he was then married to Hannah Clark a widow maiden name Dyer)and children went to Australia in 1839. Henry Ashmead married Martha Window in 1866. I would be interested to exchange information with Jennie or anyone else with knowledge of the family

Hi Jennie. Or anyone else with relatives Window in South Australia? I have a photo of two children I bought, I think, in South Australia, and would like it to go back to the family. The name Window is on the back of the enlarged photo. Trish .. WA
