Jenny Ryal ~ New Orleans, Louisiana

Surnames: Ryal/Rod/Land/Paul/Calongne
Per her marriage license for her marriage to Louis Rod on May 7, 1859 in New Orleans, LA. Witnesses to the marriage were; Henri Land, Jean Paul, and C. Calongne. I can't seem to find her before this marriage, only from the marriage on. The marriage license does not mention either set of parents. I have a letter stating that her grandchildren remembered that she spoke of Tipperary and Cork, Ireland. Jenny was born about 1837 and died Oct 28, 1912, New Orleans, LA.

Thanks for any help.

Did you find any information about Jenny? The only thing I have to offer is a James Ryall, born 1841 to James Ryall and Margaret Kerwick, all from Tipperary before they moved to NY in 1850.

I still have not found any records before her 1859 marriage to Louis Rod. They were married by the judge so no sacramental records.

I did further research on those listed in the census with Jenny. Namely Mary Rod who is her daughter, Mary Paule Lind. I found no birth record on Mary Paule. Mary's marriage license lists Pierre Paule and Eugenia Roy___.

A first marriage to Pierre Paule possibly born in France according to his daughter's census listings. No records found for the marriage of Jennie and Pierrel. No census records either. Also no death record found on Pierre Paule. Mary's census listings have her listed as born in Louisiana, her father in France and her mother in Ireland.

I have found Paule spelled many ways; Paul, Pooley, Pauley...

As for the name Ryal; Rile, Ryl, Royal, Ryael...
