I have some information on my close relatives
as well as much more information from a
Rutan family reunion that I attended a couple
of years ago. I am hoping to link my close
relatives to the large tree provided by the
Rutans at the reunion. Any help would be much
appreciated.

I just found your message and I am trying to find information about my great-grandparents. William Vermilye Ruton, b 3 Jan 1843, d 17 Mar 1924 In East Orange, NJ. HIs wife was Laura Louisa Hazard, b 23 July 1848, d 28 JUly 1908.

If you have any information on them I would greatly appreciate it. I do know that there are a number of Ruton's in Canada, but I am unable to trace them due to lack of knowledge about them.

Hi Pamela: I am going to make your day. I can take Wiliam V back to Abraham Rutan (1658-1713) Anyway, William was the son of Benjamin B. Ruton and Joanna Vermilye. I didn't have Laura's last name so thanks. E mail me direct and we can work out how I can best get more info to you. Jim Keegan

My ggrandparents were Abraham & Kate Ayers Rutan, they may have originated from the NJ area. Their son, my grandfather was John Linford Newell (b:9/8/1883). I believe their were other children, but I do not know their names. John Linford married Annie Bell Rutan in 1904, Beemerville, NJ. They had 8 children; Nervana, Glady, Ethel, Alice, Alvin, Frank, Annie Bell and Lila (all are deceased). I know nothing about my ancestors, my grandfather never spoke of his family if you can help me I would appreciate it. You May contact me through my e-mail address; stallard@always-online.com, or a posted message on this site.

What children's names do you show? Now I am confused! According to the information I have my grandfather was born 9/8/1883 in Beemerville, NJ. As I previously stated my information is lacking, but this information is accurate.

Sorry, I now know I was confused (age). Abraham & Kate Ayers Rutan had several daughters: Annie Bell (my grandmother, she married Frank Linford Newell), Alberta, Nellie and Hettie. sorry about the error, I turned the names around when I sent my message.
