Hello,
I am not related to you, but grew up with your father and his sister, Margie, as playmates. I have recently been trying to contact your father, but have not been able to find a phone number for him. I knew your grandparents well. We were neighbors. Please reply to me. Thank you.

Hello, I was glad to hear from you today. Could you please tell me what Margie's last name is? I would really enjoy visiting with her and Dan again. I don't get down to East Peoria very often now. My parents, who lived there, both have passed away, and I have only one cousin there now. In the 1950s I lived just a few houses apart from the Pedreyras when we were growing up. I remember Conrad often sitting on the front steps of their house and playing word games with us. I also remember that at one time we were talking about growing up, and he said that I would probably be married by age 18. And I bet him a steak dinner at the Pe're Marquette Hotel in Peoria that that would not come to pass. (He still owes me the steak dinner!) At any rate, I enjoyed them very much. Conrad's wife (can't remember her name) was usually busy in the house, and did not come outside with us like Conrad did. I really have no knowledge of their ancestry and have often wondered about the origin of the name. Best of luck in your research. If I come across anything I will be glad to forward it to you. And please let me know about Margie's name. Thanks. Marilea Z.

Hi Marilea, Margie's last name is Schurter. I'm sure she would be thrilled to hear from you. I'm not sure if my dad is in the phonebook or not. Interesting story about Conrad, I know next to nothing about him as my dad really never mentioned him. Any stories you d like to share would be appreciated. I can tell you our last name is from Spain. Many migrated from Spain such as John...my great, great, great grandfather. The migration also went through south america around buenos aires. There are Pedreyra's in New York as well. Also I learned Conrad, Chas, and 2 others in the family worked at P@PU railroad in the 1930's in peoria. Feel free to reply! Best. Wishes.
