I'm following up on a possible lead towards my Roth ancestry. On the LDS webpage I found a Johann Frederich Roth who was baptized 12, Jan 1828 at the Evangelisch, Kandel, Pfalz, Bayern.

This matches the name and birth year of my ancestor, except that the ships record and his sons baptism record (St. Peters Evangelical chruch, Louisville Ky)indicates he was from Uffenheim, Bayern.

I'm really lost when it comes to German records and geography, but it seems like this may be the record I'm looking for. This record gives his fathers name as Johan Jacob Roth, and his mother as Maria Margaretha Jung. If anyone has feedback on these souls, or where I can find this church record, then let me know.
