Harold F. Rose, age 91,
lifetime resident of North East,Pa,
died on Friday January 6, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on June 17, 1920 in North East, Pa. to the late John and Blanche Fisher Rose. Harold graduated North East High School and formerly was employed at General Electric and Gillisbie Machine and Tool. He also formerly owned and operated with his wife Betty Jane the St. Clair Station Meat Market and Grocery Store on Route 89 in North East and worked on the Rose Dairy Farm for over 20 years. Harold was a charter member of the North East Christian Missionary Alliance Church since 1947. He was a former church Elder, Trustee, and Treasurer. Harold enjoyed attending North East High School sports games. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Rose; grandson, Todd Ballew, sisters, Gen Yeingst and Beryl Klenz. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Betty Jane Culp Rose; a son, Terry Rose (Trudy) of South Carolina; daughters, Debbie Esterline (Jerry) of North East, Sharon Toy (Russ) of South Carolina, Gale (Boyd) Ed of North East; grandchildren, Terry Lee Rose II (Lisa), Toby Rose, Wendy Denning (Terry), Kimberly Gonzalez (Jacob), Tammy Barnett (Dan), Tom Ballew (Vickie), Tim Ballew, Ted Ballew, Troy Ballew, Shawna Christopher (Lou), Corrie Boyd (Katie), and Adam Boyd (Becky); also many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the North East Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
