George Flowers Roome was, according to his death certificate, born in Philedelphia, PA, USA on August 14, 1839. His parents were John Roome, reported to be born in England, and Charlotte Flowers, apparantly born in Halifax, NS, Canada. George died Decemeber 22, 1922 in Halifax, NS. He was married twice - first to Bessie (I believe it was Clark) and a second time to Annie Wamboldt. There were children from both marriages. Harry Walter Flowers, Percy and Ella were children of George and Annie. I am looking for any information that will assist me in tracing the Ancestors of George, John and Charlotte - and of course Annie Wamboldt

I have the following on George Flowers ROOME:

Born 11 August 1843 in Halifax NS, died unknown in Halifax NS. He married (1) May, she died bef. 1881 in Halifax. He married (2) Annie Elizabeth WAMBOLT aft. 1881, daughter of Philip WAMBOLT and Sarah HILTZ. She was born 18 December 1848 in East Chester NS and died 15 September 1943 in Halifax.

Children: May, born 22 May 1876, married Fred MURPHY
Blanche, born abt 1880, died October 1963.

George was the son of George ROOME, born 17 June 1814 in Halifax, died 31 December 1896 in Halifax, he married Rebecca CLEVERDON, daughter of John CLEVERDON, in 1838. She was born abt. 1817 in England and died 05 January 1897 in Halifax. George gave a brief family history, a transcription of which is in my possession.

This George was the son of William ROOME and his first wife, Elizabeth KNOWLTON, he was the half-brother of my direct ancester, John William ROOME.

This information was provided to me by Judith MacKenzie, who I contacted through her postings on these boards, not sure if she is still active. I'll be happy to send you what I have.

I am looking for information on Rebecca Cleverdon, married to George Roome and their family.
