I am writing to add to my last post. I was searching records today and going through My Great Grandparents Rudolph and Laura(Lora) Rogus(z) and found that they came from Poland in 1905. Also they wrote on 1 year of the census AUSTRIA/POLAND as where they were from. I guess Austria became a part of poland later. I also found out that on the 1920 Federal Census that they used the name ROGOZ and on later census's...Rogus. Also by his name it said Jewish record. I don't understand what that means unless there exits a record of him being Jewish? I have never heard this before. I am now trying to find out if that is truth about the Rogus name. ROGOZ must be the name before changes after the immigration.
