Another 4 years have passed by now. No sign of him still. I wonder what became of him and his family. I have been a frequent visitor to Guadalajara and I always check out the phone listings in order to try to get in contact with him again. DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died April 6 in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their vehicle during combat operations. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Pvt. Damian Lopez Rodriguez, Tucson, Ariz.

I worked with a Guillermo de la O in Guadalajara in the 70's and 80's. We both worked at Calzado Canada in de Systems Department. He went to live in California for a few years but came back to Guadalajara. I last met with him and his family some 10 years ago.

I sense this might be the same Guillermo... I have tried to contact/visit him but have been unable to find his current address. If you have found him in the meantime could you please forward this message to him.

My grandfather's name is Ramon Rodriguez. He died when he was 24. He lived in Mesa, AZ and married my grnadmother Josephina Urtiaga. My grandfather had a bunch of family. My family was from Puerto Rico and not EL Salvador. I do have a sister that lives in New Jeresy. But not sure we cold be related. It's interesting though that your family name is REYES RODRIGUEZ which my family name should have been RODRIGUEZ/REYES/DIAZ. My father gave us his mothers,mother's madien name RODRIGUEZ instead of his father's name DIAZ. So his first son's name (from his first wife) was David DIAZ, and the children from his second marriage were given RODRIGUEZ, and he used DAVID DIAZ RODRIGUEZ.

When he came through immigration, the US officials asked Napoleon what his name was and he told them he was from Cuba. The US officials thought he was saying his last name was Cooper, so our name was changed from Martinez or Rodriquez to Cooper. Napoleon lived in Tallahassee, Florida and then moved to Thomasville, Georgia. He married Mamie Williams and they had six children. I am a descendant of Marion Frances Cooper-Montgomery.
