I have just begun my family history investigation into
the Roddy's.

My great grandfather was Peter Roddy, a miner born in County Leitrim, Ireland the son of John Roddy, farmer and his wife Mary Mitchell.

When he was 30 years old he married Bridget Ryan (21 )a domestic from County Tipperary,Ireland in 1865 in St
Francis's Church,Melbourne, Australia. They set off for
the gold fields ( Gaffney,s Creek ) soon after where they had 12 children.
