I'm looking to find Marie Roccanova, or relatives. She would have been born about 1923, and graduated from junior high on June 20, 1938. I've got an autograph book belonging to her, from Dewey (136) J.H.S.

My dad is Anthony, there is my Uncle Vinny, Aunt Rose, Lucia Rose and Josephine. My dad and his sister Rose are the only two siblings that are not in heaven. Their names are engraved on Ellis Island.

If Nicoletta's maiden name was Lavaro, then I believe we are related. My great-great grandfathers' name was Carlo Roccanova (born 1823)and I know he had at least 2 brothers, Francisco (Frank) and Vincenzo. Vincenzo had a son, Carlo (born May 18, 1880)who married Nicoletta Lavaro and they had a son named Vincent born in Sept of 1909. This family also was from the tiny town of Craco, which makes this seem like a distinct possibility.

I believe we may be related! My Great-Grandmother was Pasqua Rocconova (b 1846), her father was Carlo (b 1823)and her mother was Maria Caterina Rubertone(b.1826) Carlo's parents were Franciso Roccanova and Pasqua Magistro (both born abt 1800). The family lived in tiny southern hilltop town in the province of what is now Basilicata, Craco.

My ggrandfather Carlo married Nicoletta (LaVecchia). They had nine children: Vincent(deceased, never married), May(deceased, 2 children), Jerry(deceased, 4 children), Emilio (deceased, 4 children), Andrew(deceased, 1 child), Nicholas(my grandfather, deceased, 8 children), Dolores(living, 3 children), Rose(living, 3 children), Carlo Jr.(living, 4 children). They raised their children in Brooklyn, NY. Carlo died in the 1950's, and Nicoletta died in 1970 (the year I was born. According to my genological charts, sharing a g-g-grandfather would make us second cousins, so its very nice to make your acquaintance. Would you happen to know the name of Rocco and Carlo's parents?

My Aunt Rose is in Florida rihgt now and she is the one who probably can give me the answers. I will also try my uncle in Staten Island. I dont know my grandfather Carlo's mothers maiden name or his sisters or brothers. Those are some of the questions I will ask my Aunt and Uncle. Where do you live?
