Ida, I don't think they're related. James' father, James Sr, was born in Scotland abt 1790. He married Susannah Hickey, who was b. 1797 in Machias, ME. Though there may be other connections between our ancestors--not uncommon in that area, especially w/ the older families. I also have Stanhope, Leighton, Hibbard, Morrison, Dodge, Camic, Harrison, and Benner ancestors from the area. Any of them in your tree?
