I got most of my Robinson family research second hand from a cousin (no longer living) and I do not have sources for all his data and most of it is only for our direct line, with little on collateral lines; but...
There was a Henry Robinson (born England abt. 1702, died Oct. 29, 1770 in Spostylvania Co., VA) had a wife, Mary ? and had they had a son named Michael Robinson ( b. June 20, 1722 and died after Sept. 27, 1787 per his will) and he had married twice: (not sure of the order) to Esther Frazier and Mary Martin. He owned a house in Fredricksburg which he sold to Geo. Washington, who used it for his aged mother. That house is now a musem and library.(you might see if they have Robinson info)
Michael Robinson and Mary Martin had: William, Henry, Elizabeth, John, Mary, Thomas, Benjamin, James, and Michael (born 1752)
Michael Robinson (b. June 18, 1752 Spotyslvania Co. died after Sept. 6, 1801 Spots. Co per will) and married March 29, 1773 to Mary R. James (dau. of Thomas and Mary (Bruce) James) and had John, James and George (born abt 1793 VA, died June 28, 1835 Greene Co., AL) George married Mary M. Herndon and my line descends from them.
Hope this helps, good luck with your search.
