I am looking for a 7 yr old male Roberts and at least 1 female Roberts age 12 in 1830 in the houshold of a Roberts (probable John)aprox 42 yrs old. Benjamin Roberts was b. 1823 somewhere in N.C. to either John or Thomas Roberts, sons of Edmund Roberts, b.1767 PA. died in the war of 1812 leaving AR. land grant in Johns name. Thanks for any help.

I am the last granddaughter of Maston & Lucy Roberts. I think they had 61 grandchildren. My younger brother is the last grandson. We are the children of Glen & Ruby Roberts. We grew up mostly at Boggs, WV 26610.
Our family host the "Roberts Cousin's Reunion" at Boggs, WV in August for the decendants of Maston & Lucy Roberts.
Maston & Lucy are buried in the Boggs Cemetary.

On the same census you received that information from, living next door is a Elihu G. Sloan with a wife, Thursy. I have a Sloan bible page which states that Thursay Roberts was born 7/28/1830. And Mary Roberts was born 3/22/1805. I believe that this Thursy is the daughter of your Hiram and Mary.

CHANDLER, AZ: Virginia Emily Metz, 96, went to be with her Lord, October 2, 2009 in Chandler, Arizona.

Virginia was born in Zanesville, Ohio June 28, 1913 to William Roberts and Prudence Simmons Roberts.

In 1940 she moved to Arizona with her husband Ralph and daughter Virginia because of her daughter's health.

Virginia was a dedicated wife, grandmother, great- grandmother and homemaker. She taught Sunday school, was a deaconess and a bookkeeper plus assisted her husband in managing Metz Pump Service in Mesa.

After their retirement Virginia and Ralph Metz moved to Quartzsite, Arizona, where she volunteered in the kitchen for the Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA), and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 76 years, James Ralph Metz; daughter, Virginia (Ron) Smith of Gilbert, Arizona, daughter, Emily Spencer of Chandler, Arizona; one grandson, two granddaughters; and her brother, Bill (Bettie) Roberts of Orlando, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances Miller, Charles Roberts, Marian Keffer and Olive Bower.

In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to The Community Bible Church, P.O. 2639, Quartzsite, AZ 85346. The family may be reached at 1602 East Oakland Street, Chandler, AZ 85225.

They have a daughter Sarah who married John Suplee on 6 November 1760. I estimate that Thomas was born somewhere between 1700 and 1720, location unknown. Does anyone have any information on Elizabeth Roberts, b. 1804 in Caernarvon, North Wales. She married Humphrey Pugh probably before 1831 when their first son, John was born. She had all her children in Liverpool, England and she died there in 1876. I'm "stuck" and can't get the generation before her.

Thank you. Since I posted my original query, I recieved Lewis Roberts' 1968 naturalization papers from Dodge County, Wisconsin. He signed his name as LEWIS, so I am going to start using that spelling although it is spelled both ways in records. In this document, Lewis says he was born in 1844 in Wales and landed in New York in 1864. The birth year of 1844 is different than his death certificate, but I would think he knew how old he was in 1868. I find it also strange that someone would come to America in the middle of the Civil War. Thanks for any help!

I am trying to find any information on Robert Roberts, born in Wales around 1814. He married Elizabeth Powell, also born in Wales. Known children are Jane Roberts, born ca 1833 in Wales, married David H. Williams; and Louis Roberts, born ca. 1838 Wales, married Jane Lloyd. Louis immigrated to the US (Grundy Co., Illinois) around 1862. I don't know if his parents ever came to the US or if they stayed in Wales.

I really appreciate your looking this up for me. The 1806 birth date for the father Robert Roberts would work fine. Lewis was born sometime between 1838 and 1844. I found a sister that also immigrated to the US by the name of Jane Roberts Williams. She was born in 1834 according to her death certificate. Her death certificate also says that her father was born in South Wales which is the first time I've seen this information (all other documents have just said Wales). So, I think you may have found a good possibility for my Lewis' family. Did you see a Jane in that family? It appears that Jane Roberts married David H. Williams around 1855 and had around 6 children before immigrating to Iowa. They were Elizabeth, Thomas, Robert, William, John, and Lewis WILLIAMS. In the 1851 and 1861 census, what was Lewis Roberts' age?

Since he (Lawrence) has decided to be uninvolved in his family's life, it has become almost impossible to find out where I come from. I don't know what my heritage is, and I think it's really important. I also don't know if he has brothers or sisters who may have children or anything like that.

In 1851 he was 6 and in 61 he was 16. I may have found Jane and David Williams in 1861 living in Llantrisant with 3 children, Thomas 4, Elizabeth,3 and Robert,1. I was unable to find them in '71

The only mention I can find of a Louis Roberts is in the 1861 England census. He was born c. 1839 in Pembrokeshire and he was a sailor on the Ocean Monarch in Liverpool Dock BUT, on looking at the census image, his name is crossed out. VERY STRANGE.

I looked at the 1851 and 1861 census for Lewis and found 2 entries which might be him. In 1851, a Lewis Roberts, son of Robert and Elizabeth, was living in the Merthyr Tyfil area of South Wales but his father was born in 1806. I cannot find a Robert Roberts, married to an Elizabeth with a son Lewis that matches the dates.
By 1861, the Lewis from Merthyr was living with his mother, a widow, in Llanwonno and he was a coal miner.
People from this time were never quite sure of their birth date so variations exsist.

I have been researching the Roberts family in Norfolk and Suffolk and am trying to trace Isaac Roberts who was living in Kirby Kane, Norfolk at the time of his marraige to Mary Weavers at Beccles, Suffolk in 1744. He settled in Beccles and moved a couple of miles to Worlingham.

My Daniel "Dan" Roberts (1835-1910) did marry a Matilda "Tildie" Rogers (1838-1934). Dan & Tildie had a son named David Jesse Robets (1866-1937), along with other kids. David married a Cordelia "Kat" Wallen (1871-1910).

I feel that men named Isaac ROBERTS and Joshua ROBERTS are likely to be related, but that is too much of an assumption I know. My Joshua was born in about 1790 and is living in Fritton as a weaver by the 1841 census. He is buried in Fritton churchyard, having died 'in his 89th year'. He and Sarah (Long) married in Nov 1814 with witnesses called Cockerill (male) Cockerill (female) and Johnson. I do not know Joshua's parents, nor have I found his baptism.
