Hi, I'm looking for any information regarding my maternal Great Grandfather.
Fred Norman Roberts was born in 1884. He resided and I believe was born in Barrow In Furness. His father was James Parker Roberts of Llanelli and his mother was Betsy (nee Bowerbank). Freds Grandfather was Capt David Roberts who died in Lisbon, Portugal in 1877.
I have both my great grandfathers WW1 medals and would like to know if possible which regiments were in Barrow at that time, or, indeed which one he was in as I cannot seem to find any military records.
