A small update on this post.
Joseph MORRISON (a painter) and Mary ROBE/ROBB have been found in Cornwall, Ontario/Upper Canada census for 1851. They have the following children: Mary J (12), Elizabeth (8), Martha (4), Joseph (1). Joseph is 38 and Mary is 27. An exciting (for me) thing about this entry is that there is also a 57 year old Mary ROBE, who is very possibly Mary's mother. I have yet to look for more children baptised or buried to this couple.
Joseph died between 1851 and 12 Dec 1859 when Mary, a widow, marries William THORPE at St Thomas Anglican in Montreal. This is the same church in which Mary and Joseph's daughters, Martha and Elizabeth, are baptised.
