Hi Teresa,
My grandmother was Ada Roachell She lived in Cross co. Arkansas(Parkin). I am just beginning to search the Roachells. Some of her brothers were James (Jim),John, Leonard, Clarence ,Luther. I believe her father was W.W. Roachell, she also had some sister but I don"t know their names. If this sounds like your Roachells let me hear from you.

Well Phyllis, Looks like we are family! My grandfather was Clarence Roachell and my grandmother was Zelma. I knew Aunt Ada and Uncle John. My father is Jack Roachell and my mother is Faye his brother's and sisters are, Clarence "Scoot", Mickey, Ted, Tim (adopted), Linda, Charlene(deceased) and Margie. Uncle Scoot has been tracing our family history for quite a while and I think he's somewhere in the late 1700's.

It's a small world isn't it?

They did call my grandfather Beans! hmmmmm, I wonder why? As far as great grandparents go, I have no idea what W.W. stands for, but I will ask my dad. I sent Uncle Scoot an e-mail today and told him about you and this website so don't be surprised if he posts a message here.

Funny all the nicknames in our family, My dad is called "Short".

As for me, I'm married. My husband's name is Charles (Chuck) and we have a 2 yr old son named Charles but we call him Chase (there goes that nickname thing again). We live in Rhode Island. My e-mail address is Teresafaye@aol.com. I would love to stay in touch with you. I might learn a few things about our family. Right now I'm gonna close and go call my dad and find out a few things. If you're really interested in doing the geneology of our family, Uncle Scoot is the one in the know and I'll see what I can do to get the two of you corresponding to each other.

Hi Scoot,
It is good to hear from you Teresa and I e-mailed back and forth yesterday, she told me that you have done work on the Roachells. I would be happy to have any of the information that you would like to share. I have just started to try to work and was getting nowhere. My Mom (Dora Ruth) had told me she thought "yalls" grandad and my Greatgrandad was W.W. Roachell(but I did not know what the W.W. stood for and she did not know your grandmothers name she thought it was Riles? But did not know her first name I really did not know where to start. I found where Uncle Jim, Uncle John, Uncle Leonard and Luther had registared (Civilian Draft) it gave the county they registared in as Panola Co. Mississippi and the town they were born in as Harmontown,Ms. How did they end up in Cross Co. Arkansas? So maybe you can help me to get started. I talked to My Mom(Dora Ruth) this morning and told her about me and Teresa finding each other she was so exicited. Daddy(Lloyd) passed away about 15 years ago and Mother has moved to the town we live in. I will give you my e-mail address its PWheaten@cs.com. hope to here from you soon.
Your Cousin,
Phyllis

My maiden name is Roachell as well. My dad is Thomas Erle (Tommy) and is the son of Orban Q. Roachell. He has 13 bro and sis not all of whom I know. Most around Arkansas. Some deceased. A few of them would be Bill, Frank, Paul David, Charles and Phyllis, Bob and Ardith, Alice and Jessie. I haven't seen any of them in a long, long time so I can't even think of them all. Do you know any or are you related to any? I am married to Jon Paul Nixon and live in Eufaula, Oklahoma and have 3 children; daughter 13, son 11, and son 6. My dad, Tommy, is the baby of the family and is 55. I hope ya'll don't mind me butting in but I just found this site and would be interested to find out more info. on the Roachell family. I don't know anything about researching it or anything but if you could help please e-mail me at anitanixon@hotmail.com
