The last name Roa is from my fathers side. He was born and raised in a small town called Penjamillo Michoacan, Mexico near La Piedad to Pedro Roa and Anita Jarramillo. We now live in Chicago. The only thing i ever heard about the last name is that it is Portugues. When ive visited that part of Mexico all the people with the last name Roa were related to me in some way or another. some of family now reside in Dallas, Tx San Fransisco, CA and Chicago, IL

Hello, my husband's last name is Roa. From his mother's side. They are from Taretan, Michoacan. Near Urapan. We now live in Stockton, CA. He and his sister looks like Filipinos. With slanted eyes and high cheekbones. I am Cambodian, so when we are together, other Mexicans can not tell that my husband is Mexican. I've always wanted to know where the origin of that name is from. There is a famous actress in the Philippines that is named Boots Anson Roa. So...who knows??????
