Teresa,

I saw several postings on Geneology.com and have some info that you could use. It is ref John ritter born in North Carolina on 3 April 1777. He is my direct great great great great grandfather. I have quite a bit of info. I am especially interested in the photo you said you had of John and Barbara. My grandfather, Llewellyn B. Ritter, did an extensive research on this family line. I have quite a bit more info.

John was born in NC (location unknown). His father and mother were Michael and Mary Ritter. Michael emigrated to America around 1750 from Baden. He was 20-25 yrs old. Don't know where he lived other than that his first son, John, was born in NC. The family then moved to Harrison County, KY, where Michael bought a farm near Cynthiana. Three other children followed. In 1803, John moved to Montgomery County, Ohio. He married Barbara Garber in 1804. They moved several times in Ohio and John died in St Joseph County on 7 Feb 1867.
John and Barbara had 9 children, 71 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren at the time of his death.

Thanks,

Dave Ritter
