Any chance they may have lived in West Michigan area during the 1920s? My grandmother was raised by a family that was not her birth family. She was never adopted legally and didn't know her real name until she was married. She went by Helen Josephine Erlandson, the name given her by the family that raised her from infancy. Her birth name was Virginia Josephine Ritter. My grandmother died without being able to find her birth family. My mother and I have been searching and hoping to find some Ritter connection to Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan area in the 1920s. My grandmother was born in 1926. Because of Michigan's law preventing 'non-relatives' from accessing birth records, I have been unable to get her birth record; while I am related to her by blood, I cannot prove relation to her identity given at birth but only the name she went by as given by the family that raised her.

Any help in filling in the blanks on her parents would be the bright day for my family.
