Hi Jon,
Although I am an outside observer of your work and have no special knowledge of this line, something struck me as very odd in your last post. It seems to say that Margaret (b. 1710 and wife of Thomas Ring) had five children up to 1735 -- she would have been about 25 then. Then she waited 22 years before having two more children! Is there really a 22 year gap between Martin (b. 1735) and Thomas (b. 1757)? Wouldn't it be more reasonable to believe that the two youngest children listed here, Thomas and John, are sons of one of the earlier named children of Thomas and Margaret? Perhaps they are sons of William or of Martin.
Again, I know nothing about this line, but I've done a lot of genealogical family tracing, and I can't recall ever seeing a set of 7 children of the same parents with a 22 year gap between siblings. I suppose it is theoretically possible, but it's sure pushing the biological limits, not to mention social custom and family norms.
What do you think?
