Were you able to find any more information about these people? I ran across it because I am looking for another RIMA and WELLS connection.

I believe the people you are looking for to be Johann Friedrich Rima (1774 - >1840) and Maria Polly Bekker:

http://myroots.pgvhosting.com/rima/Johann_F_Rima.htm

What location was your WELLS family in?

deb

Absolutely.... The McNutts were all children of James and Betsey McNutt who died at Geauga County, Ohio. I have been to Iowa, Nebraska, Washington and Oregon chasing the McNutts... Not always easy. I have TONS of info and would love to see what you have. You are welcome to all that I have

Hoping to hear from you.
Hi Steve,
Does your Rima family have a Johann Theobald (David)Rima who married Margaretha Breittenbacher in New York abt 1795? My McNutt family married several Rimas from this line. I know that Johann's family is incredibly large.

My name is Tony Rima and I live in Coldstream Scotland but was born in Swindon, Wilts England in 1943. I know my great grandfather was born Thomas Rymall in 1825 but when he married in 1848 his name was spelt Rima as it is today. I know there are a lot of Rima's in the States so it is unlikely we are linked in any way but there was a brother who'went missing' and may have emigrated to the States,

Regards Tony

Rima Family

Hello Sheri

I was the one who was sending out the newsletter. Have gotten lazy, but have not stopped research.

Your husband's family is in my records, but I must admit that from his grdfather's family on down, my records are very sketchy.

I will be happy to share what I have on his grandfather back. If you sedn me your address, I will throw it in the mail.. Here's the basics

Frederick I Rima (1895-1973) was one of five children of Frank H born Nov 8, 1858 at Howard Co. Iowa. He married Mary E Slasor.

Frank was the son of Richard Henry Rima (1830-1912) and his wife Adelia Comstock Smith (1832-1905)

Frank's father, Christian Rima (1805-187_) was one of the 80+ grandchildren of John and Catherine Rima who came here from Germany. Christian Rima with his wife Esther (1805-1873) made their way from New York State to Ohio, Michigan and finally to Cresco, Iowa wheer they are buried. Richard H Rima had a brother Williston P Rima who remained in Iowa at Decorah. He has probably been the most prolific Rima around... Lots of descendants.

Christian Rima's father was Jacob Rima b abt 1761 in Germany died Dec 24, 1819. He was a Rev War Veteran. He married Dorothea Plantz (1862-1841). They had a huge family.

Be happy to share the details. Would love more information on your husbands family and would love to know what happened to Feredrick I Rima's brothers and sisters.

Effie (1881-1907)
Mary I (1887- ???? marrieed ???
Albert I (1889- ??? married ???
Pearl (1892-1896)
and Frederick (1895-1973) married ???

Hope to hear from you

Steve Rima
217 Humphrey Street
Swampscott, Massachusetts 01907
Rima1815@aol.com
781-592-5792
Hello Tanya

I have been doing the Rima family tree for some 23 years (since age 15!) and now have some 8,000 descendants of John and Catherine Rima who came from Germany in 1765 and landed at East Schuyler, Herkimer Co., New York

Minnie was born 14 Aug 1867 at Badger Creek, Lyon Co., Kansas. She married first to Mr Duncan and later to George W Bryant. She died 20 August 1949 at Spokane, Washington.

She was the daughter of Ariel and Harriet (Freeman) Rima who came from Stephenson Co., Illinois to Badger Creek, Kansas in a Wagon Train about 1858. She had brothers and sisters Willard Rima(1858-1932), Rosella May Rima Bonham Snyder (1863-1945), Addie Lizzie Rima Randall (1869-1945) and Tina Lucina Rima Lawson (1872-1952) and a brother Frank Rima (1874-1874)

Her grandfather was Loren Rima (1795-1860) and great grandfather was Johann Friedrich Rima, son of the original immigrant, Johannes Rima who served in the Rev War.

More than happy to share all of Minnies ancestors for info on her descendants. I have her four chidlren listed, but no grndchildren, etc

Hope to hear from you

Steve Rima
217 Humphrey Street
Swampscott, Massachusetts 01907
781-592-5792
Rima1815@aol.com

looking to find husbands family tree

My husband Richard Wyman Rima has become interested in his family tree. At one time hi uncle had received a Rima Family newsletter in 1991 from a stephen Rima. It said that a branch of the family had settled in the McCook NE area and not much more was none. Rich is from that branch and I would like info into his famile. His father is Chester Rima. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You, Sherri Rima
