LONE TREE, Iowa - Georgia "Gigi" Riley, 47, of Lone Tree, formerly of Mediapolis, died Tuesday morning, June 22, 2010, at the Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit in Iowa City.
The Rev. Fred Baker and the Rev. Susan Barnes will officiate the services.
Per her wishes, her cremains will be scattered at a later date in the ocean to swim with the dolphins. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Gigi.
Georgia Kay Canterbury was born on Dec. 14, 1962, in Burlington, the daughter of LeRoy William and Georgiana (Gooch) Canterbury. She married James Dale Riley on May 12, 2001, in Bloomfield.
She was currently working for the City of Lone Tree as a cook for the Senior Dining Program. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree and enjoyed her pug dogs, Frisbee golf, hiking and cooking for her friends at Senior Dining. She was an avid Cubs fan
She dearly loved to spend time with her family.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, James "Bo" Riley of Lone Tree; her children, Tim Lamb and special friend, Ashley, Chris Lamb and his wife, Chelsea, and Jay Lamb and special friend, Danielle, all of Lone Tree, six grandchildren, Breanna Lamb, Dakota Lamb, Rowan Lamb, Noah Tripses, Arianna Xalamihu and Kaydence Foor; parents, LeRoy and Georgiana Canterbury of Burlington; siblings, Shirley Graham and her husband, Steve, of Dubuque, Edie Reister and her husband, Tom, of Gretna, Neb., John Canterbury and his wife, Cheryl, of Burlington and Joe Canterbury and his wife, Lori, of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
