Anybody connected to the Newfoundland Riggs, especially Burin area.

I am trying to find info on my grandfather William Riggs born Nov. 1850 at Marystown or Creston north.He married Rachel Clements or Clemens at Grand Bank on 3rd July 1884. I particularily want info on his parents.

I have an obit for Captain William Riggs who died Oct.9, 1935 at Grand Bank, Nfld. age 88
he is survived by wife, two sons ,George and Sam, Glace Bay
two daughters
They are Mrs Anne Osborne, Grand Bank and Mrs. Fred Hickman, Glace Bay
Another son John predeceased 5 years ago

That is my grandfather,born 1850,his wife Rachel, my uncle George,his wife Celia and my cousin Sam. My father was Sam born 1891. It is William's parents I can't get info about. Thanks again.
