Hi

You have more information than I do. My Grandparents were Max and Paz Riebeling, as I remember, the borhters were George, Ernest, Eliza, Carlos and after that I'm not sure. Let me know who you are and very possible that we are related. Originally I'm from Juarez Mexico and currently live in Mexico City with many relatives in California.

I have Riebeling's under my family tree.

Probably the patriarchs are

Maximiliano Riebeling son of Manuel Ernesto Riebeling and Refugio Gil.

He married Refugio Apodaca daughter of Juan Apodaca and Juana varela.

Here are a list of his children and spouses;

Ernesto (Ernest) Riebeling and Carmie H.

Maria Felipa Simona De La Trinidad Riebeling

Elizabeth Riebeling and Carmen Montes

I do have a list of some of the grandchildren.

Manuel Ernesto Riebeling could've been married before and Refugio Gil is his second wife.

The first wife (keep in mind that I'm speculating) is Dolores Rivera.

There is some pretty interesting information there. Also I have heard from my dad that his uncle oscar spells the last name different (Rieveling). i think that he just started doing that by himself though. My Grandfather and eveyone else in the family spell it out Riebeling.

Riebelings of Treysa

My grandfather Hermann Riebeling and family came to America from Treysa, Germany in 1904. I' ve also seen the last name spelled Ruebeling and Riebling.

My grandfather's aunt Martha Riebeling is believed to have come over earlier and married into the Luft family.

I'm having trouble tracing the family in America. I know my grandfather and immediate family lived in San Francisco, CA until his father and grandfather died but can't find any records.

I'm hoping someone has suggestions or information that they can help me with in my search.

I have a Great Great Grandfather by the name of George Riebeling who lived in Columbia, IL (Monroe Co). Here is what I know about him, then I will get into his descendants.

George was born about 1834 in Hessen-Nassau and died in Columbia about 1920. He married Anna Maria Roos about 1860. She was born in 1829 in Austria or Bavaria (depending on the account -- the borders blurred throughout the 1800's) She died sometime after 1920 in Columbia, IL.

They had at least the following five children:
Elise (1861)
Kunigunda (1862 - my great grandmother)
Johanna (1869)
Johnny (1873)
Maria (1878)

Kunigunda married Charles Schiemer, a Day Laborer, in 1886. Charles was born in Illinois (St. Clair or Monroe Co) in Dec 1854. He died on 3 Nov 1904. Kunigunda died in 1929. They are both buried in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery (Also known as Cemetery Hill) in Columbia. They married on 18 May 1886, in Columbia.

They had the following children:
Charles Louis (1886 - 1958 my grandfather)
Anna (1886 - ?)
Anton (1888 - 1971)
Carry (1891 - ?)
Louis (1901-1918 also buried at Immaculate Conception)
Mary (1896- ?)
Ella (1899 - ?)

My grandfather Charles Louis married Ella Marie Zweig on 20 May 1915. They had the following four children:

Carl Louis (1915-1999)
Louis Charles (1919-2000)
Living Daughter (My mother)
Living Son

This is truly a long shot, but I noticed your Korves surname and a few other close-but-not-perfect possible matches. I am seeking information on Father Korves, a priest at Holy Ghost German Catholic Church, Bethlehem, PA, and his relatives: one was a Katie Bolich/Bullig (Bollinger??? as you have it), and a boarder at Katie's husband's family home -- his name is difficult to read in the census (looks like WASIRIG but could I stretch it to Riebeling??).

Hi, I know we corresponded about George and William but looking back I am not sure I ever answered this question.
On Williams marriage certificate (Return of a Marriage TO County Clerk)
William gave his place of birth as Sonneberg, Nassan, Germany.

My grandfather Gyula RUDWIG was born in Budapest 1895. His father was Ludwig Adolph RUDWIG who has got a sister named IRMA. Irma could not speak Hungarian, only German. Unfortunately, I have no data about their data.

the only thing we know is that we used to be Riebeling but my great grandfather changed it to Rebelin... we live in Baja California Mexico... My great grandpa´s name was Rosendo Riebeling Mojica he was born in Mexico but his Father was Agustin Riebeling and was born in Germany and got married with a Mexican Girl (we don´t know her name)... we know Rosendo had one sister named Ernestina...

I am interested in finding out whether George Heinrich Riebeling, born 1833 in Mengsburg, Hessen, Germany, and Heinrich Riebeling, born c. 1838 in Mengsburg, Hessen, Germany, were brothers, and whether my great grandmother, Anna Wagner Kohlenberger, could have been a sister of either or both of them.

Heinrich arrived in NY in 1854, George Heinrich arrived in 1860, and Anna Wagner arrived in NY with her husband and children, from Mengsburg, in 1868. Her eldest child was 14, so she could have been born around 1830-1835.

Heinrich settled in Houtzdale, Clearfield Co., PA and was known as Henry Ribling, if this is the same person.

Hi, thank you for the information. Your George is a brother to my moms gg greadfather William. I have a different last name for Georges wife it is Anna Rauner, had you run across that spelling of her last name? I will have to see where mother came up with that. Do you any info on William?
