Juanita, Hi, I live in Mississippi, My grandmother was a Riales (Rials) never have been sure of the spelling. I do not know her father and mothers names. She was born in north Mississippi in 1888. She married my grandfather a Dendy when she was 20. They lived in Stewart, Ms. I wish there would be some connection. Do you know anything else about him? I have not been able to find a single connection for my grandmother and could it be because her family moved to Ark?? Please reply. Margie

Margie:
Thanks for your answer. My Grandfather William G Riales was born 5 Jan 1853 in Lowndes County, Ms. He was married before he wed my Grandmother Mary Elizabeth Ellison in 1875 in Floyd, Ga. I do not know any other information concerning his family so if your grandmother was a Riales she possibly could be his first wife. Now as to the spelling of the last name Riales was the name that I grew up with but I know that Ryals or Rails were also some of the spellings. My father was born in Paris, Texas so the family were there for a while so that is all that I know at this time.
Thanks again for your reply.

Juanita, I was thinking more along the lines that my grandmother could have been his daughter?? She - my grandmother was only 20 when she married my grandfather and I don't feel like she had been married before that. She was born in 1888 but I have no idea where. At what time did he live in Mississippi? This is probably just a long shot but like I said I can find out nothing about her family. There is a saying that my grandmother was a mail order bride and she married my grandfather who was 33 years her senior only after they had met once. I would love to get the full story on that. Write back. Margie

Gee how I wish that I had more information for you but there is nothing that I have located at this time. My grandfather Willaim G. Railes was known as Uncle Bud if that will help any and his father was John Riles and he was born in Tennessee but I do not have a date or location. Please do not give up because it sounds like that your Grandmother could have a very interesting story to tell if someone can find all of the answers. I will keep searching my files to see if anything comes up. Thanks for your reply.
By the way you did not give her first name that could jog someones memory.

Juanita, This just shows you how little we know about my grandmothers family. My dad said her name was Nancy or Nannie. He said Nannie could have been her given name but I doubt it. She did have one sister that my dad remembered her name was Tinsel. My dad also thinks she was kin to the Perkins around Memphis, Tn. Do you know the rock-a-billy star Carl Perkins? My dad always said he was kin to him. My dad is 77 and sometimes his memory makes up things. But its a clue (right or wrong). Thanks again for trying to help me out. If you get any info please let me know. By the way where do you live. I am in Mississippi. Margie

Yes I have heard of Carl Perkins and have seen and heard him perform on the Grand Ole Opera. The surname of Perkins does not ring any bells for me but sometimes it takes a while so I will research some more for you.
I live in Texas but was born and raised in Mena, Arkansas (Polk County) that is where my Grandfather and Grandmother are both buried. Let me know if you find any thing else that is of interest. Thanks.

I re-read your email and it looks like I did forget one of your questions about the Perkins. Well I have heard Carl Perkins on the Grand Ole Opera but do not know if they tie into our family but it is something to look into tho. Sorry but will keep a look out for this name.
