Robert Rhames came to U.S. from Ireland in the 1840's with wife and 14(?) children. Found on 1850 census in Wisconsin, many moved to Iowa by 1870. At least three of the girls and their husbands went on to homestead in Dakota. Am looking for information, documentation, and descendants.

There was an R.W.Rhames in Wichita,KS in the 1890's. I think they may also have lived in Wisconsin earlier and came from Ireland about 1850. He was an Episcopalian minister. I am interested in details of his getting from Ireland to U.S. since I believe my gr-gr-gr-grandfather came with him.

I have found indications that the Rhames family arrived thru 'Port of Buffalo' -- although I don't think that it is officially listed as a 'port of entry'. What was the last name of your ggg-grandfather that you thought came with him? Please e-mail me at plpm@ix.netcom.com
