I'm looking for information on the Renninger families who lived in Cumberland County, PA. I am a descendant of John Martin Renninger (Nov 17, 1853 - July 13, 1931). He married a Mary McGarvey (1859-1939), and they had 5 children (Margaret, Sarah, James/Edward, and William). John Martin Renninger had three siblings: Elizabeth (b. 1840), Catherine (b. 1844), and Mary Ann (b. 1850)--all the children of, as far as I've been able to tell, Martin and Margaret Renninger of East Pennsboro Twp. Living with Martin, Margaret, and their children in 1860 was an Anna Renninger. Martin, it seems, was born ca. 1804-1806.

Unfortunately, I've been unable to determine precisely who this Martin Renninger's father was and, hence, to make the connection to the other Cumberland County Renningers--a relationship I'm almost certain exists. Based on some family records, I have a hunch Martin's father was also named Martin, although I have not been able to verify this.

If anyone has any information on this line of Renningers, particularly ancestors before Marting (b. 1804-1906), I would be most grateful. And I would be happy to share, as well, what I know about the later generations. Thanks much.
