I am Dr.med. Klaus Renoldner from Austria, son of Dr. Alois Renoldner, lawyer, and grandson of Coronel Alois Renoldner who survived the Nazi Concentration Camp Dachau. I remember that my father ( 1919 - 1985) corresponded with relatives in USA. Their name was Renaltner. I also remember that he could demonstrate how we were related. My family stems from Upper Austria, community Rainbach, district Schaerding.
If any Renaltner in the USA knows more about our relationship and wants to contact me, please don't hesitate to write.

I am researching TAUSCH in Austria....my husband's
grandfather. Theodore Anton Tausch was b. 25 May 1881 in
Innsbruck Austria. He was christened in the Wilten Basilica
in Innsbruck 31 May, 1881. His father was Anton Josef
Tausch. His mothers name was Josefina, I believe. I also
know that he had a brother, Josef, born in 1883.
Theodore came to America in 1904, returned to Austria,
came back in 1905, married in 1906, returned to Austria
in 1909 and returned with his brother Josef.
I am trying to find out something about Theodore and Josef's
parents.....birth, marriage, death, etc. Someone in the family was told their name was originally von Tausch. How can I
find out this information. Any help you can give me would
be wonderful.

Thanks for your reply!

I searched for "von Altner" but the name is not registered in any aristocracy index I've searched. A aristocratic title as Baron with a "von" should be registered. Are you sure with the story from your grandpa?

Regards
Helmut

The name Renaltner here in Upper Austria goes back to to a man with surname Reinold before 1600. He became a farm from the monastir. This Farm has today the name "Renoltner-Hof". But the names at this time were not written. All was transfered only phonetic from father to kids by the prist. So about 1600 the name split in Renaldner, Renalter, Renaltner, Renoltner, Renoldner. I know some emigrated to US. But I really have no connection to them.
Regards
Helmut
