I have sone Renaghans from Derrynoose that may be connected. My gggrandmother was Rose Ann Renaghan who married John McCabe. Her parents were Nicholas and Ellen. I see the name Ellen appears in your relatives. I belive she may have had borhters Michael, Patrick and Nicholas. They were all born 1830-1840. Sue

Looking for family of Rose Ann "Rosie" Renaghan born in Derrynoose Armagh around 1836, married John McCabe around 1857.

Children not known apart from Peter McCabe who immigrated to Glasgow around 1891 (my great grandfather).

Andrew Rannaghan b1829 married in durham england to Catherine ? b1825 she was from Ireland too they had 4 children Mary Ann, Andrew, Catherine and Elizabeth. Mary Ann married my gt greatdad John George Terry, they had 2 sons Andrew and Charles please any info greatly received.

Renahan Renaghan Ireland to Ohio to Madison WI

John and Mary.....Mary Bridget John (ohio) James (ohio) show up in Madison Wisconsin as RUNIGAN in the 1860 USE Census. and Rannahan in the 1870 US Census for Middleton, WI (just west of Madison).

I've got a Sarah Reneghan marrying my Great Great Grandfather John Sullivan about 1865.....they're in the 1870 US Census for Madison....then off to Chicago (daughter Agnes) and Evanston IL (he works for the Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul RR until about 1906).

Sarah is most likely not a Reneghan....married into the family in about 1861.....has a son Michael who is age 9 in the 1870 US Census.....and in the 1900 US census she has 2 children, 1 still alive (Agnes).

Hello Bill, sorry it's taken so long for a reply. My gr-grandfather was Patrick J Renaghan also. I beleve that I have the same picture of him taken in later life with Martha. If it's not the same pic I sure would like to have a copy of yours.

hi. My mother was mary renaghan and had relatives in maplewood ma.(MALDEN) I have been trying to get some info. on the family history but on my mothers birth certificate it has her fathers (EDWARD J) listed as being born in the east indies ??? my great grand father was in the british army, i have a picture of him in uniform,i know my grand fater had 4 children john,victor,catherine and mary ellen any info would help thank you bill healey

Hello Ms. Collins, In reply to your query, my great grandfather was Patrick Renaghan. He and his wife (Martha Beresford-Clarke) met and married in India during the British occupation of the middle of the 19th century. He was born in Armagh(N.Ireland) in 1818 and died there sometime during the beginning of the 20th century, I'm not sure of the date. He and his wife had 15 children (some of whom lived and died in India) so it's possible that your boyfriend(Patrick) is related somehow. The spelling of the name Renaghan in the old days usually depended on whomever wrote it down and how they actually heard it. It stands to reason that the different spelling could be due to this. I would be interested in hearing more from you. Please e-mail me with any details that seem to mesh with this information. Thanks for your reply.

Yes this is, I believe a relative. I mentioned it to him and he noticed the other names on the computer. Maureen is his Aunt. I found more interesting results looking for his ancestors than my own. So many Collins to search through, so little info!

My guess is that Catherine Renaghan is my great-aunt. My great grandfather was Patrick
Renaghan (b.1818 d.1909?)He and his wife had
about 15 children so it's pretty much a given. I'll check with my cousin Dotti (the keeper of the family tree) as to who is whom.

Hi, I know that Patrick Renaghan was my great great grandfather. He had about 15 grand children. He was in The Royal Service ( like the army) and was in Africa fighting the Fuzzy Wassies. My great great grandmother was about 15 when they married.He was about 30. Any other interesting stories. My family (my Mom and uncle) are from the Boston, MA area. Love to hear from anyone related. My grandmother's sister Bridget McCooey (June, 1879- September 1957) married Patrick Renaghan (approx. 1873- August 25, 1952) in Keady, County Armagh on February 18, 1908. They had children : Margaret (Mrs. Joseph Nugent), Susie, Gerry, Leo and Mae.
