You're asking a question that professional genealogists have been unable to answer so far. Christian
Remick appeared in Kittery, ME records in 1651 when he received a Land
Grant there. It has never been determined where he came from or when he came to
Maine, and the liklihood that he was an immigrant has been assumed but not proven. My own theory is that he came from
England since he apparently assimilated quickly into local affairs in his early 20's, suggesting that he spoke
English. He was born about 1631, based on a 1698-99 deposition which claimed he was about 67 years old. Last mention of him alive was in May 1718, at which time he would have been about 77.
As for
Hannah, her situation is similar. No record has been found of her marriage to Christian and her maiden name has been the subject of speculation and nothing more. Tompson and
Foster are the surnames most often suggested. Her date and place of birth are unknown.
