Hello, I am looking for information on Maria Redig. She married a man named William Lewis (I don't have his last name) and they had a child named Elisabeth who was born in 1880. William Lewis was born in Germany and so was Elizabeth so I believe that Maria Redig would have been born there was well. Elisabeth died in 1933.
UPDATE (2015):
William Lewis's last name was Schmitt. Their daughter, Elisabeth Schmitt married a man with the last name "Schmidt" so my family has complication. Ha. I found a record that says that Elisabeth was born on Nov. 3, 1879, Germany and had a sister Catherine Schmitt born Dec. 18, 1880 in Troy, NY. I am not sure how accurate this is since I have word-of-mouth from my family that Maria lived and died in Germany.
I also found documents that have her name as Anna Maria--but it's possible she went by Maria. Lewis Schmitt was born in Sept. 1852 in Frankfurt. I was told by my family that Anna Maria died in 1933 and probably was in Germany.
