I will send your message to my brother in Bury hopefully it will jog my father's memory. But at 90 I am not hopeful that he will know anything as he has never mentioned my mother's family.

I have a beautiful plaque from the first world war for my mother's uncle who disappeared. I always thought his name was Savel Ratcliffe but my brother says he had a different first name - so I don't know....he was a Lancashire Fusilier, if that is any help my father said he pretended he was older so he could join up.

Do you have any sister's called Ellen, Clara Elizabeth in your family archives?
Ellen was my grandmother who died in the early 60s. She married a Bainbridge.
