Fish Fry Given For Visitors From Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Tope their son Carrol, and Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Radekin, all of Columbus, Ohio, who are visiting here, were enterained at a fish fry at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Hummerick, on the Faulkenburg road recently. (The E. G. Hummerick is meant to be E. J. Hummerick)
Other guests were Miss Isabelle McMalin, Miss Oveda Moseley, Jimmie Hummerick, J. F. Tope, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Tope and their son, Kenneth Tope, of Riverview, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Brown and their daughters, Miss Frieda and Miss Margaret Brown of Lake Wales, Mr. and Mrs. J. White their daughters, Miss Minnie Lou and Miss Aliene White and Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Moseley.

If anybody has ever come across any Radakin's, any time, any where, similar spelling, i would love to hear from you.
My search has concerned with Oldham, England now till 1870, before that Roscommon, Ireland

its certainly an intersesting thought,
the radakin's that i am trying to trace came from ireland sometime before 1850 ish.
i assume the name is some form of rattigan
or similar because there does seem to be a lot of those around ireland, especially roscommon, which is the area they lived in.

it's nice to know that there is, or was, at least one other radakin out there somewhere.
do you have any more info about your great grandmother ?
like i said my radakin's came over to oldham and lived around here nearly constantly, with just one branch moving down to the bristol area fairly recently.
would any of these tie in with your side or not ?

it doesn't seem to be the correct time frame for my lot, but you never know.
do you know where she moved to when she left ireland ?

WISH TO CONTACT ANYONE WHOSE FAMILY CAME FROM IRELAND TO R.I. REGARDLESS OF SPELLING OF THE NAME. I FOUND 4 VARIATIONS IN RECORDS FOR MY GRANDMOTHER, JULIA, A SECOND GENERATION, BORN IN R.I. IN 1860.

My gg-grandad was Archibald b 1805-10, died c1857 prob Lincoln Co, Tn. He was there in 1832 on tax list, and 1840 and 1850 census.
Tradition says he mar Rebecca ?? In 1850 he is 45, and there is a Sarah, 28, living with him as well as 3 ch. Sarah could be a sister
or a wife. Archibald had 2 bro I know of--John and Joseph. Joseph dies in Lincoln Co,
and John supposedly went to Tx. My line comes
thru Arch's son, Andrew Jackson (c1845-c1878
Jackson Co, Ark); to John Wesley (1866Tn-1954
Tx); to Wm Jackson (1891Ark-1968Tx). Some think Arch's parents were John and Lucy (Wearren). I think they prob were Wm and Mary
(McQuary) Can anyone help me? I have been searching 17 yrs and am very frustrated.

Hi Mike -
I spoke with my Mom - it turns out my great grandmother was actually a Gilbride and her mother (my great, great grandmother) was a Radakin from Crumblin/Krumle (somthing like that) in County Leitrim (sorry spelling may not be correct). She had many cousins and brothers and sisters. She would have left around 1885-90 at around the age of 19.

My great grandmother was a Radakin from (of all places) Crummy (not sure of spelling or exact location)- She left Ireland around 1890.

Is there any connection between Radakin and Radak? I do know that the Radaks came from Serbia but we are unclear if their name was changed when they reach the US.
