I am interested in the Goins/Going/Goings surname that you have posted on your family tree. A David Goings that married Martha Green; who also died from wounds received in the Civil War; with children William, Rebecca, and Earlie. It looks like Martha was married to another Goins/Goings before marrying David (as per your family tree). Please email me pete2pete@cableone.net or on this thread at Ancestry. Thanks

My interest is Marilley 'Smiley' E. Rayborn. Two Marilleys;
Andre and Emiland landed in New Oreleans in 1832 and Francois in 1854. I have not be able to find any futher information on the three. When I saw the name Marilley in Smileys name, I was sure that there had to be a connection. The name Marilley is unique. No one has been able to help me. Somehow and somewhere that name has to be connected to one of the three Marilleys that landed in New Orleans. I would appreciate any help on this inquery.

I found Henry Raborn, son of Joseph Raborn II, son of Joseph "Raybourn" (Raborn) of Edgefied,SC. He was married to Mary A.CARTER, daughter of Allen and 1st wife, Elizabeth [Anderson] Carter. Henry is listed in the 1850 Amite Co.,MS census. Henry had a son in Bienville Parish, LA named George Washington Raborn,b.18 Aug 1858 Bienville Parish,d. 29 Sept. 1919 in Crowley, Acadia Parish, LA. George married Delaney E. Pearce in Sparta,La on 16 Aug 1877. They had 8 children,6 of whom lived into adulthood. If anyone wants more info let me know. I don't know when/where Henry or Mary died/buried. Mary and Henry also had a son & daughter named "Mary," and "Henry." so it gets really mix-up. >alison

From Madison County Marriages 1786-1822, Vol. I, compiled by Vockery
John Wheeler - groom
Susannah Tivis - bride
9 Mar. 1796 - marriage date
Archibald Moore - Bondsman

Based on marriage records referenced, I do not think that Susannah Tivis married Robert Rabourn (Rayburn).

I do think that Robert Rabourn (Rayburn) married a Susannah (unknown). Susannah was a common name in Madison Co., KY during the 1700s and 1800s.
Starting my mtDNA hunt for Rabourn

After doing a familytreedna.com DNA test, I found I have not searched for mtDNA as well as needed for the Raybourn (many spellings) connection. A reply to a post on Haller surname here was helpful (Mrsosz is my sister). Now we need more 8>) Area in question appears to be Maryland, Virginia, maybe Pennsylvania in the late 17XX early 18XX. Any distant relatives out there? Here is the mtDNA tree:

George Rayburn M. J. ?
George Michael Haller M. Catherine Rayborn / Rabourn / Rayburn
Samuel Streets M. Susan Haller
Israel Clayton Moats M. Melvina Streets
Francis Marion Weaver M. Mary Moats
John Carroll Smith M. Velva Ruth Weaver
Michael Patrick Kenefick, Sr. M. Marilyn Jean Smith
Michael Patrick Kenefick, Jr. (me) M. Sara Halverson

my tree http://geocities.com/kenefick_1965/
Raborn/Lovelace

We are searching for a direct-line male descendant of William Raborn b. abt 1784-89 in SC, and wife, Susannah Lovelace, to participate in the Raborn/Rayburn (all spellings) y-DNA Project. William and Susannah's male offspring included Henry (abt 1810) Benjamin Lovelace (1815) John L. (1821) William M. (1830) Joseph Elijah (1831) Elihu Allen (1833) and Simeon (1834.) After many years of researching William and Susannah Lovelace Raborn, it is our theory that he was descended from Joseph Rayburn whose will was recorded in 1793, Edgefield Co., SC. DNA testing has already proven a relationship between some well-researched Raborn/Rayburn, etc. lines to Joseph Rayburn of the will. We believe testing will also show our link to this family. If you are a direct line male descendant of William and Susannah Lovelace Raborn, or if you would like to contribute towards the cost of testing for a male descendant who qualifies, please contact me, esleslie at bellsouth.net. Thanks! Evelyn S. Leslie
