I also have the last name Rabadan, I have a lot of family in Guerrero and would like to know more about our history. My grandfather was Espiridion Rabadan and from what I know he has 15 to 20 brothers and sisters. I have did not get the change to meet them or to know any of there names

I also have Rabadan Family from Guerrero Mexico the same part as you guys. Hurtado, Sotelo, Ocampo, Roman, Nava, Miranda, Salgado are all Surnames from that part of Guerrero. Tlacotepec, Ostotitlan etc. If anyone has a Family Tree with those Surnames please send me an invite:

Hi Bianca,
I seemes very interesting to me that your father's last name as you wrote is Araujo Rabadan, as you may know in Mexico both Father and Mother last names are used, in my case are Araujo Osorio; I truly believe that if you are looking for your ancestry you would have to start with Araujo as it seems to me that Rabadan is your grandmother's last name (maiden name).

Hi Bianca. its funny how easy it was to find you. YOur father is a neghbor of mine and had asked me to inquire about you for him Honestly, he did. He said he didn't know too many details to get a hold of you. He mentioned he has a brother in Los Angeles co in Cudahy,ca. His name is Demetrio Piszikos.

The Lady "Diputada" Macrina Rabadan Santana was my Grandfather's Sister she was an Great Activist during her whole life. My Mom's dad tried his turn in politics but...

The Rabadans that lived in the town of Cuetzala del Progreso, Guerrero MX. Still the home of some Rabadans, some of them were Municipal Elected Mayors. There is a statue of my Grand-father there. He was the 1st teacher there.

Now, the Rabadan name is an Old "Ladino" Sephardi (Some books have it as Meso-Arabic from the Middle Ages)
which it probably makes it of Mediterranean Origin. Not too popular in the Americas nor in Spain.
there are some Sephardi Synagogues in So. California you may do some search there.

Hi there Bianca, I think i could help you with that bcuz from what i heard our last name is not mexican. i heard its middle eastern or eastern european one of those two. I dont know whether to believie it but it sounds right. So this is what i know, i am also trying to find where it came from. oh by the way i am from Wahington. Hopefully one of us has a better chance of figuring out where it came from. So i wish you good luck in the search for the origin.

Hi sorry for the long late reply. From what I have got since he doesn't know much. But his name is Salvador he was married. He lives somewhere on the north side of Chicago. He has made the efford to connect with him but has been rejected many times to meet. He had some contact with an aunt - Rosa P- but it was canceled as well. My understanding is that the name is Arab and the meraning is shepard of shepards I am sure that your father is from Guerrero between the area of Iguala and Arcelia. My aunt Macrina rabadan was I believe the first Diputada federal in Mexico (c0ngresswoman)Theare is a famous festival in italy and Spain during the end of the year. Most of the information that you will get is, that the name is from Spain but I have some friend from the Middle East and I have been told that there is tribe in Egypt withh that name.
I am traying to find out about all the Rabadan's in the world and their contribution to humanity, science, etc. will you be interested?

Dear Bianca, The name Rabadan is in Arabic from Morocco. It means "chief-shepherd", but even if it's in Arabic, the last name is Jewish. If you want to know more, contact me. I know this because my great-grandfather's name was Juan C. Manjarrés-Rabadán, he was from a town in Guerrero.

I believe my paternal grandmother's last name is Araujo and my paternal grandfather's last name is Rabadan. I never met them and I am curios as to where it originated.

Anna Skarren Matthews father was Charles Lambert Skarren.
From what I understand ALL the Skarrens in the US are related.
My father is Robert Matthews, who grew up in Beaufort NC.

I was wondering and I had a thought where rabadan originated from. The first rabadan originated in the middle east somewhere along the arabic descent along the india border. Then with the mixed rabadan family started to travel on foot ending up in spain. Which is where the spaniards ended up on the mexico terrority. Fighting the aztec warriors, then the rabadan headed into the mexico. can somebody tell me if Iam right. Some people say that I have facial features of spaniard, middle easternized, and hispanic. All I know is that documents show my great grandfather using cruz-manjarrez and my grandfather used it as a youngster; however, for some reason when he had kids he only used manjarrez. My grandfather and great grandfather are from the state of Guerrero in Mexico. I was also told that the name came from spain.

My great-grandfather was Juan Cruz-Manjarrez Rabadan, the Cruz Manjarrez came from Castilla Spain, the Rabadans from Morocco and they were converso/Jews. that's all I know, can you throw any more light?
