Dear Raab family, I am a french non-professional history enthusiast who is researching the WWII US Army Paratroopers.
I would like to know if maybe one of you ever know of a FRANK A. RAAB who was an early paratrooper (as early as late 1940, as part of the very first US Paratrooper outfit), and who went to serve in the Pacific with the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment.
His enlistment records shows he was born in Texas, that he enlisted in Georgia in 1939 and that at the time of his enlistment he was living in Oklahoma (?).
There is a Mr. FRANK A. RAAB (1917-2008) from Tarrant Co., TX, and I suppose this might be him...
Well, sorry if this message sounds weird, I thought I should give it a try,
Regards from France,
Christophe Mora.

I researth Singer, Raab, Straka, Brehm, Hurst and I have a Joseph George Raab born in Baden-Wurttemberg 1832-1871 his son is Frank Joseph Raab 1871-1914. Frank Joseph Raab children are: Joseph Thomas Raab 1895-1953 Elizabeth Raab 1897-? Albert T. Raab 1900-1972 Katie Raab 1902- ? Anna E. Raab 1905-1975 Francis Raab 1911- ?
I wonder if your Frank A Raab is a son of one of my ancestors and named for his grandfather Frank G Raab. I have not traced all my Raab ancestors but the date range shows it is a possibility he is in this family.
Do you have any other information on his family?
There are other Raab families researched on RootsWeb you may want to check them also.

Thank you very much for your quick and nice answer.
I have to admit that I don't have any other informations regarding Mr. Frank A. Raab, other that the few gathered from his militard enlistment record.
Have a nice day,

I am the oldest daughter of Frank A Raab, 1717-2008, Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas. Yes, my Dad was a paratrooper and served in the Pacific in WWII. He also served in Panama during the war. I have pictures of him jumping from planes at Ft Benning, GA. Hope this information helps.

My Dad, Frank A Raab, is the son of Frank Xavier Raab born in Kleberg, Germany in 1874. He came to America at the age of 17. I can't find any records of his arrival. I've come to the conclusion he was a stowaway. He ended up in Iowa and married my grandmother. Her name is Mary Barbara Neppel of German and French decent. They moved to Oklahoma and finally Texas and had nine children, William, John, Louise, Anna, Frances, Frank, Joseph, Al, and Lewis. In 1963 when my Dad was in the Army we were living in Italy and made a trip to Blaibach, Germany and met some of the Raab relatives. One of the Raab cousins was a Natzi in WWII. I know very little about the Raab family.
