My grandmother was Sarah Quinlisk (1881-1942). She married James Harmon and I believe they must be included in a Harmon booklet put out by someone in Warren Co., Ohio. (I have not seen this booklet, but saw a message recently which stated one was available.) There is a Harmon St. in Hamilton OH named after him.

Their son, William E. Harmon, left his wife with 5 children when Dad was 10 yrs old so anything I get on this line would be appreciated. (By Dad too, by now!)

Not sure on Martin Quinlisk. My Great Grandfather James Patrick Quinlisk arrived in 1880. I would think that is why James came here to St. Louis in the middle of the country. Must have had a line on a job or relitives. I have been by Quinlisk Crossing it is just an intersection

Birth record James Quinlisk (m. 1837) to Fanny Dunne b.1822 Co.Laois
I am trying to find birth record for James Quinlisk (m. 1837, Dunkerrin Parish, Co Tipperary North) He married Fanny Grace Dunne (b. 1822, Ballinakill, Co Laois. Thady Quinlish was a witness at this marriage.

James and Fanny (Dunne) Quinlisk have 7 children between 1837-53; all baptized in Ballydonagh, Dunkerrin Parrish, Co Tipperary North).

The children are Honor-1837; Michael-1839; Mary-1841 (myggrandmother who m. John Horan 1856); Anne-1844; Bridget-1847; Fanny-1850 and Hugh-1853.

Fanny was 15 years old at time of marriage. I make an assumption James is that age....and researching birth records around 1822 +/- 5 yr for James. There are several records and it is difficult to pinpoint the correct parents.
The most promising one is:

Timothy and Margaret (Toohy) Quinlisk’s children - James (b. 1822), Hon (b. 1830), Michael (b. 1832), Theresa (b. 1837)

If any of these names match please contact me. Thank you.

Karen

I went to Tipperary 2 yrs ago and met PJ & Sean Quinlisk in Cloughjordan. They helped me gather some info; still need to find out my gg-grandmother Ellen Quinlisk's mother. Her father was Patrick, b. 1786. She emigrated w/Michael Quinlisk whose parents were John Q & Margaret Ryan. Not sure of the relationship of Ellen & Michael. Here's a YouTube video I made of my trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72u7DBzkhoE

This is info I got with PJ's help: http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ire/tipperary/churches/cl... & http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ire/tipperary/churches/cl...

I really appreciate info on your family; it may tie in!
QUINLISK

I am researching our family. There was a Sarah Quinlisk born
approx 1828-1835 apparently in Dublin, who emigrated to Queensland Australia. She arrived on the ship 'Wanata' in March 1863 into Moreton Bay. Ther ewas a Brigit Quinlisk on the same ship listed with her, so assume it was a sister. No record of Brigit has ever been found after arrival, but Sarah went on to marry Thomas Lloyd Jones. They had five children, and Sarah lived ot a ripe old age ending life inBundaberg where her family had spread. She had done well to start as a Catholic Irish servant girl, and ended up a respected member of pioneer colonial society, owning quite an amount of property. Her father was apparently a farmer (tenant farmer I assume) and times were tough then. Does anyone have any Quinlisk family info that might link to our Sarah.

I believe he had been married before and had a child named Rosemary. I think his first wife was Gladys. I don't know if Mamie was ever married. James owned a bar in Chicago at one time. I just found that out.

Your Margaret/Marguerite was a sister to my husband's grandfather (James II m. to Elizabeth/Bess Dwyer). I have a good deal of information on this family. Believe that they are also related to the St. Louis family through the great-grandfather (also James I m. to Margaret Tracy). This James ( I) was born in Templemore, Tipperrary, Ireland around 1825. There is a place in Ireland called Quinlisk Crossroads near Templemore!!

My husband, Thomas Kennedy, is the ggrandson of James Conrad Ackerd (PA) and Anna Margaret Quinlisk (b. jul 15 1860 in PA). The grandson of Anna Margaret (Maude) Ackerd(PA) and Martin D. Gannon (PA), and the son of Ellen Southworth Gannon(PA) and Maurice Kennedy(TX). I think Margaret A. Quinlisk (b.1860) is the same person as my husband's Anna Margaret Quinlisk. My mother-in-law often talked about relatives in Punxsutawney and Pittsburgh.
I would appreciate any information that might help verify this.
