I am looking for Leigh Matheson Quillen or his family. Either Kimberly Quillen (Manny) or John Quillen or Ruth Light may be those who have information. I will apprecviate an answer from anyone re: The named one I am searching for. Clara

Do you know if the Qiullen book is available, or the title? We just discovered a gg-grandmother possibly named Qiullen. We don't know if she was from Scott County, but her son Silas raised his family there and later lived in Kingsport.

We have Caroline/Carolyn Quillen married to Riley Hurley.

Amoung their children Silas (1877-1959), Mary, Linda, Hattie, Martha.

I will also post this as a new msg at the top of the board.

I'm curious whether you ever found the parents of James Alford Quillen. My husband is descended from him and Mary Elizabeth Wright. I am new to genealogy and have not been able to find James' parents yet either. Perhaps the info is in "The Quillin Family" book mentioned on this board. Anybody know?

3 brothers settled in Scott County (Gate City, VA 23241) and in Sullivan County TN (Kingsport TN 37660. One brother spelled his name Quillin, the other two with the e. The library at Gate City VA 23241 has a book on the Mc Quillin, and Mac Quillen family history. It came out in the 50's and may still be in the library there. Most of the families dropped the Mc and Mac. The libary's number in Kingsport is 423-224 2539 (Reference number), and the Archives is 423-224-2559. Scott County Library is 276-386-3302. Hope this helps you. If not email me again at rlight1021@aol.com

I too am interested in this "Lost Branch of the Quillen Family". I am convinced that (John) James Alford Quillen is the brother of Rebecca Catherine Quillen Anderson wife of John Anderson. Have more ideas. Anyone want to communicate? Paula G.Herron
