There isn't that many Quach family in Oregon. It's kind of interesting to see all the Quach family there are out there. There isn't that much to say. All I know about my family is that my dad side was from China and my mom also a Quach was from Vietnam. They came to America around the 1980 and had me here in Portland Oregon. I just wish I knew more.

i do agree with you completely about the fact that there is not that many people out there with the quach last name. my father came from china like yours and my mother was borned in vietname, although her bloodline were mostly chinese. from my own calculation i found out i am about 1/16 percentile vietnamese and 15/16 percentile chinese. like you wish i could find out more about my family background. but, as i am going to school far away from home, i have less time to interact with my parents and find out more about our background. i would love to hear more about what you know about the quach family. respond to the email address above.

it's very interesting to know somebody with the same last name. My great grandfather was from China, my father can speak Chineses but not all of us(sisters!) and all of my brothers went to Chineses.

Two questions: How do you pronounce your last name in "English?" I pronounce it "KWOK." Next question, do you find it difficult to explain your background to new people you meet like I do? I say I'm Chinese but I only speak Vietnamese, however, my parents and their parents speak both. What has your experience been?

My family was also from Vietnam.. but, we're Chiu Chow (ChaoZhou). Well from what I know the mandarian pronunciation of Quach is Guo, which literally translated means the outer walls of a city. All surnames in China are Clan based, unlike in western culture where the surname denoted a past occupation or family relations like, Smith (black smith) or Anderson ( Son of Ander) Also, try searching for Kwok, Guo, Gok, etc. Well hopefully some of this is helpful.

Remeber when i had said my parents are from vietnam? I am chiu chow too. But i don't know how to write. Do you know what i am saying? Wa ai wa gei mama. Lu ooh pak wa tha me kai bo?

My Fathers name is also Jimmy Quach

I 'm not completely sure what you're writing Chiu Chow like all Sino-Tibetian Languages are Tonal. Also depending on the way you say it the romanizations are kinda arbitrary. I think the first line says you're Looking for you're mom. But the last sentence I'm at a lost.
