PETERSEN, Martha (Marty) Pytel age 83, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 in Dayton. She was born in Dayton, Ohio and resided at St. Joseph's Orphanage from ages 9-18 and graduated from Julienne High School.
She achieved athletically in volleyball, softball and kickball.
She was an avid bowler for years and earned numerous trophies and awards.
Marty started her career at Wight Patterson A.F.B. where she met her future husband, Harry.
She was employed by many local businesses and her last employer was Trojan Riggers.
Marty was preceded in death by her son Robert and her siblings, Jesse, Stanley, Helen, Jennie, John, Wilbur and Bernice.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Harry; children, Karen Orr of Chaz, FL., Edward (Barbara), Nancy Petersen; 1 granddaughter, Laura (David); 2 great grandsons, 1 great great-grandson; devoted sisters and brother, Irene Osborne, Mary Ann (Bill) Galt, Leonard(Mimi) Pytel and many other nieces and nephews.
Marty took great pride in her craftsmanship which she utilized for the benefit of organizations such as Learning Tree Farm and Holt Street Miracle Workers.
