Greg,
I just read your posting on the rootsweb.com query board about your grandmother PYSZ from Connecticut. My maiden name is Pysz. My grandfather was Jan Pysz who also came from Galicia and settled in Buffalo NY. His wife Agnieszka joined him in Buffalo in 1910, he came in 1907. They had 9 children. Towns in Poland that I have found on records are Pikule and Janow, Lublin. If you think this may be a connection, write back. Please drop me a note to my e-mail address if you respond to this at rootsweb so that I will be sure to check it. Thanks.

Sue

Hi, My great grandmother's name was Julia Pysr or Pysz, we are not sure on the spelling. She supposedly came over to America in 1902 and landed in Boston. She had sisters, I don't know their names. I have relatively no information about her. She was born in Austria in 1894 or 1895 in January. On her marriage certificate it states her parents were unknown. Though I believe this is because she did not speak very good English. She married in 1912 to a Casmis Tadleykofski, later the names changed to Charles and Julia Terlikoski. They Lived in the Towns of Millers Falls and Montague Massachusetts. She died in 1967. I was just wondering if any of this sounded familiar with your family? I have no info on her, I can't even find her parent's names anywhere in any of my gram's old records (she is deceased now too and I never got to ask her anything). Thanks, Beth

Greg,

My grandmother Gladys Pysz Kolakowski was the daughter of Konstanty. I would love to learn more about her parents.

Appreciate any consideration. Ellen

My family did not settle in the CT area but IL, they also came to the US from Galicia. My great-grandfather was paul pysz born in 1882, his father was michal pysz. They immigrated in the early 1900's.He married Paraskenia (paraska/paraskevia)in chicago in 1908. I am still trying to figure out her maiden name. The marriage license lists them both with the last name pysz. Anyways, this is as far back as I can go on the pysz tree. Aside from Paul, and his father michael I dont know any other family members. I figure we should be connected somehow coming from the same town. After being married paul used the surname pesh and so did his sons. His wife and daughters used pash
