hi dee,
sorry i;ve been away from this for a while. I'm going to try to get a digital photo of the Carl Pyritz headstone for you so you can compare it with any info you may have. My system crashed and we have had to spend many hours rebuilding. what a chore.

anyway, will get you the photo as soon as i can get there.

Hello from the West Coast Pyritz's. My ancestors came to the west coast (7 total) in 1873 and worked for timber companies to pay for their passage. My Grandfather (Charles) and his brother (Walter) established homesteads up the Smith River here in Oregon. Very few of us left from this string - too many girls.
Seems like there is a larger group in the East. I have one second causin who has a post marked letter from the town of Pyritz before the name change.
