I have a book given to my grandmother Aimee BLACKIE in 1897 inscribed "To Aimee from Grandma PYOTT." Aimee's parents were Alexander BLACKIE and Catherine Mackenzie CLARKE. WHYTE, PANDREICH, ARNOT, HENDERSON AND STEEL are also in my tree in and around the Angus area .

Thank you for your contact. I am very much obsessed with family history research. My maternal line connected with Pyott surname. My Grandmother being Ann Pyott, daughter of Colin Pyott & Mary (Marjory ) McDonald. Over the years I have collected a vast amount o material. I note your interest in the surname White. Elizabeth Pyott married name White lived in Brechin. If you believe we could assist each other then you have my address.

Thanks Margaret for your reply. I believe Pyott to be not a common name and the ties to Brechin make me think we are probably connected. Do you have a David Pyott who lived in the Chicago area in the late 1800's into early 1900's? This is the point I need to work back from.

It is with deep regret that I have to tell you that our beloved Emma our daughter passed away on 10.01.2010 aged 33 years old. My eldest daughter Alison showed me this site and I had to reply to you. If you require any further information about the Pyott family I would be only too happy to oblige.

Yours faithfully
Linda Pyott

Sorry for your loss Linda. I just popped into the site myself and am looking for information on Harry L Pyott b 15 mar 1835. m to Mary Emily Moore abt 1855. He was in the civil war. 97th Pennsylvania Co. A. returned home and is last seen in the 1880 census with his family. I have some envelopes that put him in FL in Jan 1886. I have his death in Jun 1886 from stories from the family. I am looking for his parents. I have hints that he might have been in Chester PA in his early years. I do not know where he died or is buried but I suspect in Trenton, NJ. Any help or guidance would be great. Thank you in advance.
