Hi Kate ... those are the same Pynns I was referring to, but I can't say for sure if (or how) they're related to mine. I am fairly sure they are. There were a lot of Pynns in Harbour Grace, and I think they're all pretty much related.

I am going on vacation until about Jun 3 or so, but this summer I'm hoping to pick away at cleaning up and adding to what research I have. I think I might have the link between Edward and my Pynns somewhere in a large stack of research my great aunt gave me some time ago. I will be sure to post back here if/when I find it.

Hi again. It's nearly 2:00 am and my wife is going to kill me but I had to go find my stuff and check it out.

Captain Joseph Pynn, b 1806 Hr Grace, married Delilah Rogers Feb 3 1838. Captain Joe was my 4th g-grandfather. He was also the first cousin of your Edward Pynn. I'm pretty sure up to there. Not absolutely sure if this is right, but Capt Joe's dad was George A. Pynn married to Sara, and HIS dad was also George A. Pynn married to Sarah ... so the elder George A. and Sarah would be our common ancester. (I actually have a photo - at least a decent photocopy of a photo -of Capt Joe.) I'm thinking the A in Joseph A. is Augustus - there seem to have been a few of those!

Anyway ... part of my task this summer is to enter what I have, verify what I can, etc.

That's the beauty of our research... it can wait, unless you have living, knowledgable relatives that you haven't compared notes with yet.

I'll wait to hear from you this summer. Lemme know if I can help...
